How to get to the city centre from Sutton Bonington campus

There are many transport links that will get you there. In fact, it’s so close that you might even take yourself there on a bike or on foot!

Sutton Bonington Campus is situated 12 miles (19 km) south of the central campuses, near the village of Sutton Bonington - so if you're studying on this campus, you're not going to be able to walk into Nottingham City Centre. That shouldn't stop you visiting though....

There’s a number of options you can take depending on your method of transport.

Some students will have access to a car. This is still the most convenient method of transport. There are a number of car parks within the city centre that you can choose from that accept online payments.

Car

Going via Remembrance Way (average journey time: 25-30 mins)

> Head north on College Road to Station Road and continue onto Station Road
> Continue to follow Station Road and continue onto Gotham Road then
> Turn left onto W Leake Lane then
> At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto
> The A453 slip road to Nottingham/Barton in Fabis then
> Merge onto Remembrance Way/A453 then
> At the Mill Hill roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Clifton Lane/Remembrance Way/A453 then
> At the Farnborough Road roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Clifton Lane/A453 then
> Take the exit towards Grantham/A52/Newark/A46/Melton/A606 then
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Clifton Lane/B679 and go through one roundabout and then
> At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Wilford Lane/B679 then
> Turn left onto Loughborough Road/A60 and
> Use the right two lanes to turn slightly right to remain on London Road/A60 then
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Canal Street/A6008 and then
> Continue on Middle Hill then take Fletcher Gate to St. Peter’s Gate (0.5 miles)

Going via Nottingham Road (average journey time: 30-35 mins)

> Head north on College Road to Station Road and continue onto Station Road
> Continue to follow Station Road and continue onto Gotham Road then
> Continue onto Kegworth Road and
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and remain on Kegworth Road then
> Turn left onto Nottingham Road then
> Turn right onto Farnborough Road and
> At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Clifton Road and
> At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Wilford Road/B680 then continue to follow Wilford Road/B680 then
> Keep right to continue on Ruddington Lane/B680 then
> Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Wilford Lane/B679 and
> Turn left onto Loughborough Road/A60 and
> Use the left two lanes to turn slightly left onto Bridgford Road and
> Use any lane to turn left onto London Road/A60 then
> Use the right two lanes to turn slightly right to stay on London Road/A60 then
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Canal Street/A6008
> Continue on Middle Hill then take Fletcher Gate to St. Peter’s Gate (0.5 miles)

Bus

Nottingham runs an award-winning public transport system. It’s fast, friendly and incredibly efficient. Travel passes are available and will include use of the trams too.

Take the 901 Hopperbus & Skylink – (average journey time: 40-45 mins)

> Walk from the campus to the College Road bus stop (0.5 miles)
> Take the 901 Hopperbus for 12 mins non-stop to Clifton P&R (Stop ID: ntsajpdp)
> Take the Skylink Nottingham and get off after 6 stops (Stop ID: ntmwtmgp)
> Walk from Friar Lane (Stop F1) to the square (0.2 miles)

Take the 901 Hopperbus & Indigo – (average journey time: 45-50 mins)

> Walk from the campus to the College Road bus stop (0.5 miles)
> Take the 901 Hopperbus and get off after 4 stops (Stop ID: ntsajpdp)
> From the University East Entrance QM, take the Indigo Bus and get off after 13 stops (Stop ID: ntmadtdm)
> Walk from Friar Lane (Stop F4) to the square (0.1 miles)

Bicycle

Going via Green Street – 10.7 miles (average journey time: 55-60 mins)

> Head north on College Road towards Station Road
> Continue straight on Station Road then
> Continue onto Gotham Road and
> Turn left onto W Leake Lane then
> At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and
> Turn right onto Barton Lane to continue onto Green Street, then
> At the Mill Hill roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Barton Lane/Remembrance Way/A453 then
> Take the exit towards Grantham/A52/Newark/A46/Melton/A606 and slight left then
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Clifton Lane/B679 and
> Turn left onto Main Road and continue on to Wilford Toll Bridge and
> Turn left onto Riverside Way, turn right and then
> Then turn left onto Queensbridge Road and slight left to remain on Queensbridge Road then
> Turn left onto Carrington Street then
> Turn right onto Canal Street/A6008 and
> At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Middle Hill then
> Turn left onto Middle Pavement then
> Turn right onto Bridlesmith Gate then
> Turn left onto Cheapside/Poultry/The Poultry and
> Turn right onto High Street and then
> Turn left onto Long Row/Smithy Row
